Jean Challiner of Aspirations Consulting was approached by an Interim Director for some coaching when the individual stepped into the acting role after her line manager retired. She was anxious about her ability to fulfil the needs of the role while awaiting the recruitment of a substantve director.

Coaching included visioning, goal setting, predicting barriers, and forward planning. Strengths and self limiting beliefs were also explored.

The coachee was meticulous about reflecting on the conversations, creating herself a detailed plan and carrying out the actions she set herself. She also used self-reflection to great effect and her confidence grew rapidly.

After only 3 sessions over 4 months, the coachee felt she was well placed to retain the substantive Director role and is now preparing for interview.

"I just wanted to thank you for your time on Monday it was really helpful as always and I really do appreciate your continued support.

It was lovely to be able to talk through the progress that I have made since I started in the acting role and the degree to which my confidence has increased.  As discussed I don’t recognise the person I was and I am tremendously excited about the future and what I can bring to the substantive Director role.

You have helped me so much on my journey from my first meeting with you"
